Today is the day!

Not only is this a day that the Lord has made, in which I will rejoice and be glad in. But this will be the day I FINALLY send in my Texas Christian University application. The reason I say finally, is because for a while I gave up. I had been so set on attending TCU since I moved out here a few years ago. I was going to turn in all my stuff early and be one of the first waiting on a decision. But I simply got scared. I began to see all my accomplishments to this point, as worthless. And I began to see myself as undeserving of the opportunity . Once the first wave of people began to receive their acceptance letters from TCU, I realized I still wanted nothing more than to graduate in the year 2019 as a horned frog. Even when I still decided to apply during the second early action deadline, I procrastinated, still feeling like I wasn't capable. But my mother said to me the other day. Whatever God has planned for you is going to be. So now as I submit this application, I pray fo...

Call of the Wild

My mom always asks my brother and I if we want to move back to California. My brother can't wait to get back. I on the other hand am up in the air. I ask myself where am I at my best. In California I was my best physically. I ran all the time and was very active in sports. But in Texas I am my best spiritually, mentally and emotionally. I have never experienced God the way I have out here. It wasn't till I moved out here that I went to youth conferences and and youth camp. And actually saw God doing amazing things for kids my age. I had this idea in my head that I had to be older to experience God and really understand what he has done for me. But I realized that wasn't true, God can reveal things even to young people. As for whether or not I will move back to California. I am not sure. I told my mom I can see myself anywhere. If I was offered a job in New York right after college , I would probably move there the next week. I could also see myself living in France for a ...

Imperfect Faith for a Perfect God

I consider this blog to be a raw, real declaration of my faith. I want it to be something to show my readers that faith and your relationship with God is not perfect. You will have doubts, you will question whether or not your worthy but God is always there and he cares. Today was my cousins water baptism. He is in his twenties and he is trying to become a police officer. He attends a police bible study and they gave him the opportunity to be baptized today. First it was amazing to see him give his life to Christ but I got something I would have never expected to get out of it. The speaker really spoke straight to my heart today. He said how he recommitted himself to God after he realized he was living what he called a double life. He said he would act a different way at work than he did at church and at home. He knew that a relationship with God called him to be open with those all around him. And I realized I have been doing the same thing.   Not that I have been curs...

I can't hold it in any longer!

Ok I need to tell other people. I told my family but that is not enough. So I figure why not just tell the world in a post. Let me just give a quick background because it has been a while since I posted. But I saw this pin on Pinterest and it inspired me to document or make note of all the great things that happen to me in this year and at the end of the year(New Years Eve), remember all the great things that happened. I decided to just pin all the great things in a secret board and then unprivate it at the end of the year for everyone to see. AND GREAT THINGS KEEP HAPPENING! I want to just share some of the great things that have happened to me just in the past month(in chronological order of course). - Powerful Purses Luncheon @ the Fort Worth Club -Got my first job(@ Chick-fil-a just fyi) -Got accepted into the National Honor Society -Was handpicked to be on Chisholm's first prom committee I thought I would just thank God publicly for all the amazing things that hav...

Great Things to Come

I guess you guys deserve an update, it has been a while since I last posted anything. Well next week, Sunday to be exact, I will be leaving to attend a week long leadership camp for school. I am super excited!!! A whole week living in a dorm, meeting new people, and learning new information to take back to Chisholm. Also Boswell wants us to help them with Fall Convention. And I can't even describe to you how overjoyed I am for this upcoming year. I will be a junior, president of student council, and an ambassador for my school. I hope opportunities like this never seize. I am ready for more. MORE in every area of my life; School, Spiritually, Mentally, and Physically. Also we r supposed to be spending a weekend with my dad, his girlfriend, and her daughter. Let me tell you this will be very interesting. I am excited if only for the simple reason, it means more driving time with my dad. He is a great driving instructor. My 6 months with a permit ends mid-October and I h...

World Here I Come

Today was officially our last pep rally of the year. I was so excited seeing all my friends perform and they did amazing. There are only 13 days left of school. And I am sooo close to becoming a junior. I am soooo excited for junior year. I can't wait! Tomorrow my dad is coming to pick me up and take me driving. I am excited cuz I get another opportunity to drive. And I get to learn with another teacher. My fav part of driving is finding a teaching style that I really respond well too. So far my aunt was the best. No Offense mom, but my aunt is more confidant and if she is worried she doesn't get anxious she handles it very well. Well thats alll for today!

Time of My Life

These have been the best few weeks of my life to date: I got my permit. I was made vice president of Student Council. And I became an ambassador for my school. I am working so hard to ensure that I am very successful in the future. And to see things falling into place is really exciting. Just the other day in dance class my friend was telling one of the other girl's in our class about our goals. Which were basically to get into good colleges and to become really successful. And we were telling her to make sure that we accomplish those goals we have to put in the effort now, we have to work hard now. Cuz if you waste your time in high school it will be to late to do everything you want.
