Imperfect Faith for a Perfect God

I consider this blog to be a raw, real declaration of my faith. I want it to be something to show my readers that faith and your relationship with God is not perfect. You will have doubts, you will question whether or not your worthy but God is always there and he cares.

Today was my cousins water baptism. He is in his twenties and he is trying to become a police officer. He attends a police bible study and they gave him the opportunity to be baptized today. First it was amazing to see him give his life to Christ but I got something I would have never expected to get out of it.

The speaker really spoke straight to my heart today. He said how he recommitted himself to God after he realized he was living what he called a double life. He said he would act a different way at work than he did at church and at home. He knew that a relationship with God called him to be open with those all around him. And I realized I have been doing the same thing.

Not that I have been cursing and doing drugs at school but I haven't openly expressing my faith, which in my mind is just as bad. My God is so great and he deserves the recognition not just in a church setting, where people already know Christ but where people really need it. In my school where kids are so lost and struggling to know who they are. And I have to tell myself if I don't tell them about God who will.

And it is so crazy to literally see God working in this situation. Because this past Tuesday at senior registration this lady, I met last year at see you at the pole, came up to me and reminded me about being apart of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and really lighting this school on fire for Christ and really being bold. And I never felt as called as I do now to really proclaim my faith and be who God has called me to be.
